ConferenceDirect Establishes DEI Executive Committee, Business Resource Groups
In an effort to continue its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts, ConferenceDirect has established a DEI Executive Committee and Business Resource Groups for the company. The company took these actions both to help keep DEI firmly integrated into the company culture and to continue its progress in this area over the past year.
“We studied and listened to companies that seem to have successful DEI efforts and consistently both have Executive Committees and Business Resource Groups, so it made a lot of sense for us to do the same” said Brian Richey, Co-founder and Executive Vice President of ConferenceDirect.
The CD DEI Executive Committee will be meeting each quarter, as well as at the company’s annual meeting. The group will be tasked with continuing the discussion — and the efforts taken — on what ConferenceDirect’s actions should be to continue making the company more diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
The Business Resource Groups goals and objectives are: Welcoming, Mentoring, Community, Engagement and Collaboration. The current BRG’s at ConferenceDiret include:
-BAC@CD (Black Associate Council)
-InternationalAssociates@CD
-ClubPride@CD (LGBTQ+)
-Internations@CD (CD Associates who reside in the U.S. and represent other nationalities)
-Women@CD
“As ConferenceDirect has grown through the years, Brian Stevens and I have always felt the importance of maintaining a small company feel,” said Richey. “In addition to being part of our ConferenceDirect DEI efforts, we feel these groups will provide an additional layer of support and community within ConferenceDirect.”
